1. As my Savior – Jesus wants me to know that all my sins have been forgiven, and I now have eternal life.

  • John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
  • Romans 4:7-8  “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered. “Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord  will not take into account .”
  • Romans 8:1  Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
  • Romans 8:16  … The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of  God,
  • Romans 8:31   What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is  against us?
  • Romans 10:13 for “Whoever will call on the  name of the Lord  will  be saved.”
  • 1 John 3:24 …  We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
  • 1 John 5:11-13  And the testimony is this, that  God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have  the Son of God does not have the life.  These things I have written to you who  believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

2. As my Lord  – Jesus wants me to know that I have been bought with a price, and am no longer my own.

  • John 13:13 (Jesus said)  “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for  so I am.
  • Romans 11:33-12:1 …  For from  Him and through Him and to Him are all things. …  Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the  mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
  • Romans 14:7-8 … not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
  • 1 Corinthians 7:23  … he who was called while free, is Christ’s slave . You were bought with a price …
  • 2 Corinthians 5:15  and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

NOTE:  This could be threatening, if it were not the absolute truth that God loves me and will always do what is in my best interest.

If God loves me, can only do what is in my best interest, and never makes mistakes, what would be a logical reason for not embracing Him as my Master?

3. I am very special and God has a marvelous, unique design for my entire life, and He wants to manage His plan for me.

  • Psalm 40:5 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; there is none to compare with You if I would declare and compare with You if I would declare and speak of them, they would be too numerous to count.
  • Psalm 139:16  Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;  and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding . In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
  • Jeremiah 29:11  ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
  • Matthew 11:28-30   (Jesus said)  “Come to  Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and  learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is  light.”
  • Romans 8:31-32  What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

4. God wants me to know that the Holy Spirit alone is capable of guiding me and revealing God’s plan to me.

  • Proverbs 16:9  The mind of  man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
  • Isaiah 55:8-9  “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
  • Jeremiah 10:23 … a man’s way is not in himself, nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.
  • John 12:24-26 (Jesus said) “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. “He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world  will keep it to life eternal. “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; …
  • 1 Corinthians 2:9-14  …“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of  man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.” … the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, …

5. God wants me to know that the Holy Spirit will train me to recognize, follow and obey His guidance.

  • Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
  • Luke 9:23-24  And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.…
  • John 10:27 (Jesus said) “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
  • John 14:26  “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
  • John 16:13-15  “…the Spirit of truth, … will  guide you into all the truth; … “He will  glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. …
  • Romans 12:2  … do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
